In 2017 Fair Housing for Frome actively explored what opportunities there are for dealing with the housing crisis in Frome.
We identified six areas of possible activity and set up six public meetings to discuss them. We are in the process of putting all the information that came out of these meetings on dedicated pages (see links below) of this website and have also set up a public forum so that the Frome community can continue the discussions started at the meetings. The areas of activity are:
- Self-Build and Co-Housing (May)
- Shared Living and Intergenerational Community (June)
- Homelessness (July)
- Tenants and Landlords (September)
- Creating New Homes (October)
- Tiny Homes and Pod Living (November)
As well as public meetings on these areas we put on three other events and held follow-up meetings. Through all of this activity we have over 180 people signed up as actively interested and have reached many more through facebook and the press.
With the help of this support we have identified the main issues about which that people want action and have developed a 12 point plan to deal with them. For more details see here
